Empowering Creativity and Social Impact: Maǎl Creatives’ Participation in the Active Citizens Social Enterprise Workshop

June 17, 2020.

Maǎl Creatives has always been committed to enhancing the creative landscape and supporting positive change through art and innovation. One of the notable achievements of the company was its participation in the Active Citizens Social Enterprise Training Workshop by the British Council – UK, which took place on June 17, 2020.

The workshop was a transformative event for many creatives in Sudan, underscoring the vital role of artists in their communities to drive positive change. Over time, the art scene in Sudan has evolved from being a mere hobby to a promising profession and a catalyst for economic growth. In March 2020, the British Council launched the Creative Futures program, a collaboration between the Social Enterprise and Art programs, which aimed to help creatives turn their talents into income-generating creative enterprises.

The Creative Industries Workshop hosted 30 creatives from various art fields such as painting, singing, photography, illustration, and theater. The goal was to help them build stable creative careers and develop as entrepreneurs in the creative sector.

Hassan Mohamed, Founder & CEO of Maǎl Creatives and Art Director & Brand Identity Designer, participated in this impactful event. He joined other creatives in this workshop to foster the growth of their businesses and empower them to transition their creative work into sustainable, income-generating enterprises.

Through this participation, Hassan Mohamed not only developed valuable skills and insights into social entrepreneurship but also contributed to the growth of the creative community in Sudan, reinforcing Maǎl Creatives’ commitment to nurturing innovation and supporting the cultural economy.
